Serial Number and Package Label Check | Label Details, Local Record, and Page Review

Serial number and package label checks should be recorded as observed details, not as assumptions. Write down the label, package state, page view, and device context before starting or continuing setup.

Serial number and package label check with local record and page review

Capture label details exactly

Record model name, visible label text, package date or printed fields if present, and where the label appears. For a related path, see the serial and packaging cross-check guide.

Compare packaging and page context

If a page is used during the check, record the page title and task separately from the package label. The label-to-page comparison is covered in the package label comparison guide.

Keep device screen status separate

The device screen should be noted as its own line: first screen, setup state, or connection prompt. For a general arrival baseline, use the new Ledger arrival check.

Store the record without private setup data

The final record can include photos, label text, page title, and device state. It should not include PINs, recovery phrase words, or private setup details.
