After a Ledger device reset, restoration should be handled from the device screen first. Confirm the recovery phrase record, follow the device prompt, set a PIN, and only then use Ledger Wallet to review recognition, device apps, and version prompts.

Confirm the recovery phrase record
Before starting restoration, check that the recovery phrase record is complete, in order, and readable. For the concept, read what a recovery phrase is. If a phrase entry was not accepted earlier, compare with the recovery phrase not accepted guide.
Restore only on the device screen
The restoration phrase should be entered on the Ledger device. The computer or phone can show Ledger Wallet context, but the phrase input belongs to the device screen. If the current screen does not match the expected flow, return to the first-time initialization sequence and identify which stage is open.
Set the PIN after the restore path
Once restoration reaches the PIN step, create and confirm a PIN on the device. Keep this PIN separate from the recovery phrase record. For a focused review of the PIN step, use the Ledger PIN setup guide.
Finish with Ledger Wallet recognition
After the device unlocks, open Ledger Wallet and check whether the device is recognized, whether required device apps are visible, and whether any version prompt appears. Use the post-initialization check list to keep the final review consistent.
