Unclear Device State Record | Package Notes, Screen State, and Entry Record

When the received Ledger device state feels unclear, the useful first step is to organize what can be observed. Package notes, screen state, app entry, and date should be written as separate records before any setup step continues.

Ledger unclear device state record with package notes screen state and entry record

Start with visible package notes

Write down the outer box condition, label area, accessory placement, and photo names as observed facts. The broader sequence in the new Ledger arrival check can be used as the reference order for this first note.

Keep the screen state separate

After the package note is complete, power on only as needed to read the device screen. Record the screen language, prompt type, and setup state without adding private setup data.

Use the app entry as a path record

Open the expected app path and write the page or recognition state shown there. The package-to-first-screen flow in the Ledger unboxing notes helps keep the app entry from being mixed with package observations.

Close with one dated review record

The final record should combine package note, screen state, app entry, date, and next review point. If photos are part of the record, the unboxing photo guide gives a clean way to name and group them.
