A Ledger device system state check should compare the device screen with the app message. The reader should know which state belongs to the device, which belongs to the app, and what should be kept in the review note.

Write the screen prompt as the device state
Start with the device screen and record the wording or confirmation state shown there. The device-state sequence in the post-setup self-verification guide gives a useful comparison point.
Record the app message separately
Next, open the app view and write the message or page state shown in the app. Do not merge app wording with the device prompt.
Use the confirmation layer for context
The confirmation layer belongs on the device screen. For background on why screen confirmation matters, read the Secure Element basics guide.
Keep the review note short
The final note should include device state, app message, confirmation context, and date. For a related app-prompt flow, see the app prompt and device state guide.
