When moving Ledger Wallet to a new computer, the Ledger device does not need to be re-initialized just because the computer changed. Install Ledger Wallet before connecting
Start with the app entry, not with repeated cable changes. On the new computer, review the Ledger Wallet download and installation guide, then complete installation before expecting the device to appear in the app. This avoids mixing app setup questions with device connection questions.
Connect and unlock the device
After installation, connect the Ledger device, unlock it, and watch both the device screen and the app page. If the device is not recognized, use the Ledger connection checklist to separate cable, port, permission, and app-state checks.
Review pages and app records
The new computer may not show the same local page history or preferences as the previous environment. Review installed device apps, visible account pages, and the app settings without assuming every local record will look identical immediately. Handle version prompts separately
