Mac Does Not Recognize Ledger|Permission, USB Path, and Screen Checks

If a Mac does not recognize Ledger, keep the review narrow: app entry, USB path, permission state, and the device screen. This avoids mixing a cable question with an app or system-setting question.

Mac Ledger connection permission USB path and device screen check

Confirm the app entry first

Open Ledger Wallet from a known entry and keep install questions separate from connection checks. The app-entry baseline is covered in Ledger Wallet Download and Installation Guide.

Check cable and adapter path

A direct cable, hub, adapter, or port can change the Mac connection path. Review one path at a time. Cable purpose is explained in USB-C Data Cable or Charging Cable.

Review permission state

macOS permission prompts may appear outside the app flow. Note whether a permission prompt appeared, what was allowed, and whether the app state changed after reconnecting.

Match app and device screen

After each change, read the Ledger device screen. If the device is waiting for another task, return to the app entry and reconnect from a clear state.

For Mac, the most useful note separates adapter path, system prompt, app entry, and device-screen wording. Leave private setup material out of the note and keep the next change narrow.
