A Ledger recovery phrase backup is complete only when the words are written from the device screen, checked in order, stored on an offline medium, and reviewed with a separate status note. The checklist should make the record usable later without copying the words into app-side notes.
Write the phrase from the device screen

Keep app notes to status only
A good app-side note says the backup exists, where the category is, and when it was last checked. It should not contain the phrase words, PIN, or a second copy of the backup.
