A Ledger recovery phrase should not be entered on a computer or phone because those devices are for app view, connection prompts, and account pages. The phrase belongs to offline records and device-screen restore workflows. Keeping that boundary clear prevents app tasks and backup records from being mixed together.
Use the device screen for device-side confirmation
When a step needs confirmation, read the hardware screen and keep the app page as context. The device-side role is easier to understand after reading the Secure Element basics article.
Keep the recovery phrase in offline records
The recovery phrase should stay on a physical record that can be checked later. If backup order needs review, use the recovery phrase backup checklist rather than typing the phrase into a general device.
Use computers and phones for app view only

Pause when a page asks for phrase words
If a computer or phone page asks for complete recovery phrase words, stop and return to the offline-record boundary. A normal status note can say that the phrase record exists and was reviewed, but it should not include the words themselves.
