A temporary computer can be treated as a connection environment. Before connecting Ledger, check the desktop state, cable, app entry, and hardware screen prompt. The goal is to make the steps clear and controlled, not to make assumptions about the computer itself.

Prepare a simple desktop environment
Close unrelated windows, use a stable cable, and connect directly when possible. If USB behavior is the main question, compare the setup with the USB troubleshooting guide before opening more pages.
Open Ledger Wallet from a known entry
If Ledger Wallet is needed, open it from a confirmed app entry and check the app name and page context. The app entry can be reviewed in the Ledger Wallet download guide.
Let the device screen lead confirmation
After connection, read the hardware screen before confirming any prompt. PIN handling belongs on the device. Recovery phrase material should remain offline and outside ordinary computer pages. For the phrase boundary, see the recovery phrase guide.
Record what was checked before disconnecting
A short note can include computer used, cable path, Ledger Wallet page, device screen state, and whether the task was completed. If this temporary environment is used again, the note helps repeat the same controlled sequence.
